How exactly does anxiety become a problem?

This short clip (from Therapist Aid)describes the cycle of anxiety that affects most of us at some time and some of us a great deal of the time.

The cycle demonstrates how we desire to avoid or escape what makes us uncomfortable. This does provide short term relief .

But long-term this becomes a pattern that is sometimes difficult to manage or change.

Anxiety and Depression

Are you struggling or stuck with anxiety or depression? Do you think one or both of these may be impacting on your life?

Diagnosed or not the symptoms of both of these conditions can make daily life bewildering and distressing. These are real conditions affecting people from all stages, ages and areas of life.

Anxiety and low mood, whether together or alone, can persistently interfere with many areas of your daily life-your ability to function, to make decisions, to feel welcome and positive in relationships and to believe that you are making progress and feeling happy.

One treatment used in response to both of these, (after appropriate assessment) is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. ACT or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy evolved from CBT. Have a look at the Youtube clip below as the ACT response is briefly outlined. Thank you!
