NEW! January 2026 Update:

To focus on tailored clinical outcomes in men's mental health, complex workplace stress, and relationship wellbeing, from the 31st of July, 2026 until November, 2026, the practice is accepting new referrals for men (people who identify as male) only.

Drawing on an extensive background across complex corporate, factory, team, and high-pressure organizational hierarchies, I specialize in supporting men navigating the pressures and responsibilities of relationships, competing demands, provider role, childhood trauma survival, and restoring balance in high-conflict or controlling domestic partnerships.

Nga mihi, Amanda

Haere mai and welcome

Kia ora, I’m Amanda Moore, a psychologist and a registered addictions practitioner with a private practice in Upper Hutt. I work with adult clients. I see individuals and couples throughout Wellington and the Hutt Valley.

As a registered psychologist, I use only an evidence-based approach that takes into account current training, information and methodology in my practice. Details regarding specific types of therapy and other services I offer can be found on the relevant page under Types of Therapy.

Focus of Practice

I work with adults who want to engage in reflective, change-oriented therapy. The focus is on understanding long-standing patterns of behaviour, thinking, and relating, and working collaboratively to create meaningful and sustainable change. This approach is best suited to clients who are ready to participate actively in therapy and who are seeking depth rather than short-term or crisis-focused intervention.

Amongst other areas, I am particularly interested in clients with ADHD who wish to make change. Recent training and increased certification in this field reflects this interest.

Another area of focus is addressing undesirable patterns of behaviour and thinking that stem from childhood or historical trauma.
